How Is The Trial Class?
Typically we start the class with about 10 minutes of warm-up then we practice some striking or kicking techniques, after that we look at a situation of self-defense where we are being aggressed and learn what to do in such situation and practice. The class finishes with a 5 minutes drill to summarize what we have learn during the class. During the class you'll be training with different partners who are essentially beginners like yourself. The trial class is one hour.
What Do I Need to Bring For The Trial Class?
Bring T-shirt and long training pants or shorts with leggings below. Bring drinking water. Bring a towel. You don't need protective gear for the trial class.
About training shoes:
-
For Nakameguro dojo: Because we are training on mats we only accept soft soles wrestling shoes or bare feet.
-
For Yokohama studio: Wear indoor training shoes (sneakers), without crampons and no black soles. If you don't have, for the first time just take your usual sneakers, but please clean the soles of the shoes so that we can keep the floor of the studio clean.
*** If you have any health issue that makes you doubt whether you can join our trial class, please check with your doctor before hand.
Levels And Grading
At KMG, student ranks are represented by patches instead of colored belts, following a clear grading system divided into three main levels:
- Practitioner, Graduate and Expert.
Each level is subdivided into five ranks, with a specific curriculum for each rank.
Krav Maga Grading
Is Crucial To:
Build strong fundation
Get a deep understanding
Set medium-term goals
Keep the motivation
“EVERY KRAV MAGA MASTER WAS ONCE A BEGINNER”
To progress through the Practitioner and Graduate levels, students typically need 4 to 6 months of regular training before being eligible to take a grading test. These tests evaluate not only technical and tactical knowledge but also fitness and mental strength. Successful students receive a diploma and the corresponding patches, which are recognized in all KMG schools worldwide.
